(Dresden, 16 December 2019) Tomorrow, Deutsche Bahn will provide the State Directorate of Saxony (Landesdirektion Sachsen) in Chemnitz with the documents for the regional planning procedure concerning the new Dresden–Prague railway line. This will kick off the regional planning procedure. DB has presented seven route corridors in the documents, including three all-tunnel options, and examined their impact on people and the environment.
DB today presented the content of the documents to participants at the third dialogue forum event on the new line, which took place in Pirna. Current results of the dialogue forum’s Heidenau Working Group, which is looking closely at the junction in Heidenau between the existing railway line and the new line, were also presented. The comments by the working group to the DB planners are currently being evaluated. You can find the presentation from the dialogue forum in the media centre.
The State Directorate of Saxony in Chemnitz, which is leading the regional planning procedure, presented the timetable for these official proceedings. The documents will be publicly displayed in the municipalities from 6 January to 28 February. The State Directorate will also publish them online at www.lds.sachsen.de. The regional planning procedure should be completed by the middle of next year.
The European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) is also publishing the documents on its website www.nbs.sachsen.de. From 20 December, the documents can additionally be viewed on the DB project website www.neubaustrecke-dresden-prag.de, which went online today.
In January, DB will be holding information events in the Christuskirche in Heidenau on 27 January and in Pirna Town Hall on 28 January, both from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Representatives of the State Directorate and EGTC will be available to speak to here.
