DB Netz AG and Správa železnic have published an invitation to tender for joint project management as part of the project to build the new Dresden–Prague line • The joint project management will run until 2024 and support preliminary planning work in the joint planning section between Dresden and Usti nad Labem

(Dresden, 12 May 2020) The public contract will be awarded on the basis of the planning agreement concluded by Správa železnic, DB Netz AG and DB Energie GmbH in 2019 and will be managed by DB AG. Tender documents have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union as part of the public tender procedure: https://ted.europa.eu/udl?uri=TED:NOTICE:218264-2020:TEXT:DE:HTML&src=0.

The project for the new line consists of a German, a Czech and a joint planning section. Deutsche Bahn AG tender documents will apply in the joint planning section.

A market consultation on the now published invitation to tender was held in Prague on 15 January 2020, in which DB Netz AG and Správa železnic introduced potential bidders to the award procedure and the planned contents of the calls for tender. More than 70 interested parties from the Czech Republic, Germany and other European countries took part in the consultation, revealing the European significance of the contract award.

The new Dresden–Prague line will expand the range of regional passenger transport services through significantly shorter journey times, shift some of the freight traffic on this route from road to rail and connect the Czech Republic’s rail network to the western European high-speed network. The line will form part of the Trans-European Transport Network.
