Preliminary market consultation on the new Dresden–Prague line project attracts foreign contractors.

A preliminary market consultation was held in Prague on Wednesday 15 January 2020 to introduce potential contractors to the award procedure and possible contents of public contracts. Správa železnic and DB Netz AG will together carry out the tendering and award procedures for the joint planning section.

(Dresden, 23 January 2020) DB Netz AG and Správa železnic have organised a preliminary market consultation with the aim of transparently outlining the joint award procedure to be implemented for the cross-border planning area in the next few years.

The interest in the event shown by potential contractors exceeded the organisers’ expectations, confirming that the planning work on this project is an exceptional opportunity of interest beyond Europe. More than 70 contractors from the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries in central and western Europe took part in the consultation. The consultation was also broadcast in the form of a video conference, which was watched by more than 40 representatives of potential contractors.

The two companies are already working together closely to prepare the tender documents for the first contracts. Publication is planned in the first quarter of this year.
